VALBEMAR KOPI LANANG KAYUMAS (Peaberry Coffee)
Kopi Lanang is more typically known as Peaberry Coffee for its oval, pea-shaped beans. Even though the bean is still categorized as Arabica, its size is smaller than its peers. The coffee is named “Lanang”, which in Bahasa Indonesia means male, after the myth that this coffee can produce higher vitality for men.
In addition to the coffee’s unique appeals of size, shape and taste, another rare distinction of the Kopi Lanang lies inside the cherries: whereas the typical coffee cherry contains two beans, the cherries of Kopi Lanang contain only one. This type of bean is very rare and makes up only 5 -10% of overall Arabica coffee production.
Like ValBeMar Kopi Gajah Kayumas, our Kopi Lanang Kayumas has an exceptional taste with low to medium acidity, medium body, and intense aroma when compared to other coffee variants. Ours is grown in the area of Ijen Mountains of East Java at a height of 1,000 – 1,500 meters (3,300 – 5,000 feet) above sea level.
At ValBeMar, all of our beans are processed through the UTZ Certified‘s Wet & Wash procedure, which utilizes their high quality assurance management system to guarantee superior quality and extraordinary taste. View our list of certifications here.
